Are you looking for more than a trip, something immersive, meaningful, and transformative? Our volunteering program invites committed individuals to live and serve alongside our team in the highlands of Guatemala, supporting the daily work of Ütz B’ey Guatemala.

This isn’t just volunteering, it’s a lifestyle of purpose, presence, and learning.

Is this You?

We’re looking for grounded, self-aware individuals who are ready to dive in and stay a while. This experience is ideal for those who want to slow down, contribute meaningfully, and learn from life in rural Guatemala.

To qualify, you must:

  • Be at least 23 years old.
  • Have intermediate or higher Spanish speaking ability.
  • Commit to a minimum of six weeks.
  • Feel comfortable living simply on a farm (yes, bugs included).
  • Be independent and confident navigating Guatemala on your own.
How You Can Contribute!

You’ll work closely with local staff and children during the day and have time in the evenings to rest, reflect, or enjoy the natural beauty around you. Your role will depend on your skills, initiative, and interests. Areas that many long-term volunteers support include:

  • Assisting with education programs (literacy, arts, English conversation).
  • Helping with gardening, cooking, or facilities maintenance.
  • Providing organizational support (admin, social media, translation, etc. . .).
  • Building relationships with children and families through consistent presence.

What’s Life Like at Ütz B’ey?

You’ll be based on a beautiful, peaceful farm in Aldea Chivarabal, just outside Tecpán, with forest views and volcanoes in the distance. Life here is simple. Accommodations are basic but comfortable.

You’ll have your own room or shared volunteer housing, access to a kitchen, and the freedom to shape your rhythm. On weekends, you’re welcome to explore nearby towns like Antigua or Lake Atitlán. We are deep into rural Guatemala so transport needs to be arranged but we can help you with that!
